Charity Halloween Party a Spooky Success Capitol Cruisers Becca Lichtenstein and Kay Ledwick, along with Becca's mom, Megs Johnson, held a Halloween party for the children of the Latina families on October 31st. The Capitol Cruisers provided the funds for decorations, candy, prizes, crafts, and games while Trish Roberts was able to find local pizza parlors who donated 6 pizzas. Kim’s Krypt Haunted Attraction also donated items such as movie posters and treat bags. Approximately 15 children attended the party, which was held at the Montgomery County Offices in Rockville, while their mothers attended their regular meeting down the hall. Many of the children were shy at first, but once they ate some pizza and candy they started to warm up to us and each other. Others were mischievous from the start. Some were dressed in costumes ranging from Spider Man and Barney to a witch and a ballerina. They all enjoyed making paper pumpkins and ghosts, playing “pin the tail on the black cat”, coloring, and playing musical chairs. Everyone won prizes that included West Coast Choppers pencil sets, Spider Man coloring kits, yo-yos, little ponies, matchbox cars, and blinking glitter balls. After about 2 hours the party started to wind down and the children went back to their mothers. A thorough cleanup was given to the conference room we used and, on our way out, we were given an appreciative farewell. Overall it was an excellent experience and, although we were fairly exhausted at the end, it was worth it for the big smiles on so many little faces. A Special Thank
