December 2004

Holiday Party 2004

Around 15 members of the Capitol Cruisers and their families enjoyed the festivities at our annual Holiday Party held on December 4 at the home of Paula Leonardo. Everyone was well fed as our potluck dinner offered turkey, shrimp and crab dip, pasta salad, potato salad, steamed vegetables, and more. Hot brownies, fresh out of the oven, topped off dessert.

The Chinese grab bag again proved to be popular. Gifts ranged from candles and remote controlled cars to the notorious Harley-Davidson hat. Unlike previous years, Mary Ann did not “win” the hat.

The party ended with the passing out of awards for such things as most miles, most meetings attended, appreciation and services awards, and motorcycle wings for leading monthly rides in 2004. Check out page 2 for more pictures from the party and a complete listing of awards.

A final thank you goes to Paula and her lovely family for hosting our party this year. Their cozy home was perfect!

Cruising with Donna

The saying goes that “Time flies when you are having fun”. It’s hard to believe the end of the year is here already. While some of you may be resigning yourself to the idea that you won’t be able to enjoy motorcycling until spring comes, the Capitol Cruisers does not go into hibernation with the coming of winter.

As a four-season chapter, we have rides every month of the year as long as we have someone to lead the ride. While we don’t have a leader for December, I will be leading the 2nd Annual Polar Bear Ride on January 15. We still meet every month at Dominic’s. Our meeting on December 14 will have elections for treasurer and assistant chapter director. Also, we will start to think about special rides and activities we would like to do when the warm weather comes back. Please join us even if it is cold.

Finally, make sure to continue receiving The Capitol Cruiser each month by making your $15 donation toward our 2005 operating expenses.
